What does it mean to be 'so soon removed' in Galatians 1:6?
To be “so soon removed” means the Galatians were quickly moved away from the One who called them into the grace of Christ, turning to a different gospel. That gospel was not entirely different, but a perversion of Paul’s pure gospel—people twisting it by adding to or taking from it.
Les explains that Paul is amazed the Galatian churches are moving away from the pure gospel he proclaimed. The phrase means they were moved away from Him who called them into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel, which is not another. Les points out that it is not a completely different gospel, because then it would be immediately recognized as false. Instead, false teachers were troubling them and perverting the gospel—twisting it out of shape by adding to, taking from, or altering what Paul preached. Les says this is exactly where much of Christendom finds itself. Paul then says that even if he, an angel from heaven, or any man preaches another gospel, that one is to be accursed.
