Is the phrase "Body of Christ" found in the Gospels or used by Peter?

No. The term 'Body of Christ' is not found in the Gospels, and Peter never uses it. It is a Pauline term and a Pauline revelation. Ephesians 2 applies it to believers as many members in one body, all baptized by one Spirit into that body, with Christ as Head.

Les explains that the phrase 'Body of Christ' cannot be found in the Gospels, and Peter does not use it. It is a Pauline term and Pauline revelation. In Ephesians 2, the human body is one and has many members, and all the members of that one body are one body; so also is Christ, referring to the Body of Christ. Les illustrates this with fingers, toes, ears, and eyes, but the control is at the head. Christ is the Head in Heaven, and believers are members of that Head; their citizenship and nerve center are there. Every true believer becomes a member of the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, not only the most spiritual or those who had an emotional upheaval; the Holy Spirit baptizes them into the Body of Christ.
