What could Israel not see about the Law?

Israel was blinded to the fact that the whole system of Law had passed off the scene, was abolished, and had come to an end in Christ. A veil remained over their hearts when Moses was read, preventing them from seeing that the Law was fading away and that something better—God's grace—had taken its place.

Les teaches that Israel’s minds were blinded to the fact that the whole system of Law had passed off the scene. The same veil remained untaken away when the Old Testament was read, and it is done away in Christ. When Christ finished the work of redemption through His death, burial, and resurrection, the whole system of Law was abolished, because something far better had come. The Law was given to the nation of Israel to prepare them for Messiah, but in unbelief they failed it from start to finish; God still carried out His plan. Christ revealed to the Apostle Paul salvation by faith because of God’s grace, with nothing added. The average Jew in his blindness still ties himself to the Law; the veil is still on Moses’ head, and they cannot see that it has come to an end. The veil kept Israel from seeing that the Law was fading away and that something better had come in its place. Even to this day, when Moses is read in the synagogues, the veil is upon their heart. Romans 11 says Israel nationally did not obtain what he sought, but the election obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
