What was Paul's pattern for preaching to Jews and Gentiles?
Paul's pattern was to go first to the Jew and then, when it became evident that the Jews would not receive a harvest, to turn to the Gentiles. He was the apostle of the Gentiles, and his early congregations were predominantly Gentile with a smattering of Jewish believers.
Les explains that Paul was the apostle of the Gentiles, and the congregation he addressed was predominantly Gentile. Yet no doubt there were Jews in the early congregations because Paul would always go first to the Jew. Then, when he saw it really was not going to reap a harvest among the Jews, he would go to the Gentiles. Les is convinced that in all of Paul's early little congregations there was a smattering of Jewish believers, and he thinks archeology substantiates that as well.
