How carnal was the church at Corinth compared to the other churches Paul dealt with?

The church at Corinth was the most carnal and fleshly-minded of all the churches Paul dealt with; none were as carnal. Paul addressed its many problems without commending or bragging on the congregation, writing gently so as not to provoke anger while refusing to agree with their practices.

Les explains that I Corinthians is a letter dealing with problems Paul does not commend the Corinthians for. Paul is too kind to condemn them outright, but neither does he commend them or brag on them. When Les gets through the love chapter, I Corinthians 13, he will emphasize that Paul is backing into the situation so he does not flare up their anger and put them where he cannot deal with them, yet he is not going to agree with all their problems. The reason is that they are still so carnal. Of all the churches Paul deals with, none were as carnal and fleshly minded as the church at Corinth. The content itself makes this immediately evident.
