Les Feldick Bible Study

How can the Bible have so many different authors and writing styles and still be one book?

The Bible can have diverse human authors and styles because the Holy Spirit is its composite author. Isaiah and Ezekiel differ in personality, and the Gospels differ from Paul, yet the Spirit inspired each writer. The human element remains, as when Paul wrote 1 Corinthians in response to questions.

Les explains that Scripture can have many human writers and different styles because the Holy Spirit is the composite author. Isaiah writes from a totally different personality than Ezekiel, and the Gospels come from a totally different perspective than Paul, yet all are authored by the Spirit. The Spirit inspired Paul to write, while the human element explains why he wrote 1 Corinthians: it answered the Corinthians’ questions. Les notes they had many questions about problems, and Paul deals with problems he does not commend them for. He does not outright condemn them or brag on them. They were still carnal, and no church Paul dealt with was as carnal and fleshly minded as Corinth.
