What could Satan show Jesus from the spiritual perspective when showing him the kingdoms of the world?

Les explains that even though Christ was on earth in the flesh, He and Satan were both spiritual, so this temptation could operate on a spiritual level. From that perspective, Satan could let Jesus see backward through history to Nebuchadnezzar and possibly David's great kingdom, and forward to all the great empires that would yet come. He told Jesus that if He fell down and worshipped him, He could have control over all these nations, and they would bow at His feet. Les also notes Satan seemingly did not know that these same nations will one day be under Christ's rulership when He rules and reigns, coming under His sovereignty.
