What did the Israelites do when they had no water in the wilderness?
When they had no water, the Israelites came roaring up to Moses and chided with him, almost screaming and demanding, “Give us water that we may drink.” Moses responded, “Why chide ye with me? Wherefore do you tempt the Lord with all your complaining?”
Les explains that the Israelites were in the desert with no water, and they became thirsty along with their livestock, which were bawling and bleeding for a drink. So they came roaring up to Moses. As Exodus chapter 17, verse 2 records, the people chided with Moses, irritating him and almost screaming at him, saying, “Give us water that we may drink.” Moses asked why they chided with him and why they tempted the Lord with all their complaining. But that did not help; verse 3 shows they were still thirsty.
Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
