How does Paul apply the Sanhedrin marriage requirement to church leadership in 1 Timothy 3?

Paul applies the Sanhedrin's marriage requirement to church leadership by carrying the same premise into 1 Timothy 3: a leader must have the experience of being a husband and father. Just as Sanhedrin members needed family experience to judge family matters, church leaders need that responsibility to lead intelligently and from experience.

Les explains that the Sanhedrin could not have a member unless he was married and had children, because they had to judge family relationships and needed that experience. Paul carries this same premise into 1 Timothy chapter 3 for the leadership of the Church. The question is how leaders can lead intelligently and from experience if they have never had the responsibility of being a husband and a father. Les also asks where people get the reasons for their church government or organization.
