What happens if the man in 1 Corinthians 5 keeps living with his stepmother?
The man's ongoing sin with his stepmother is a sin unto death. If he does not repent and turn around, God will take him out of Corinth ahead of time. The church is to deliver him to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so his spirit may be saved.
Les explains that this man is evidently committing a sin unto death, worthy of death if he does not repent and turn around. If he continues living with his stepmother in a marital relationship, God will take him out of Corinth. Verse 5 instructs the congregation to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit, the soul of the man, may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Les adds that the Corinthians were glorying and puffed up, and a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
