According to Isaiah and other prophecies, how would the Gentiles be evangelized?
Isaiah and other prophecies expected Gentiles to be evangelized through Israel. Once Israel became the obedient vehicle—a kingdom of priests—Israel would then evangelize the Gentiles. The Old Testament understood God would save Gentiles, but not that it would happen without Israel.
Les explains that the Old Testament did understand God would one day save Gentiles, but it had no idea it would be without Israel. The whole idea in Isaiah and other prophecies was that once Israel became the obedient vehicle, that kingdom of priests, then Israel would evangelize the Gentiles. Paul later reveals the mystery or secret that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles be brought in, a truth not dreamed of before.
