If Paul's epistles are our meat and potatoes, does that cancel the rest of the Bible?
No. Paul's epistles being the meat and potatoes for us today does not cancel the rest of Scripture. The whole Bible fits together, and the other portions remain valid and complementary. Paul's writings are especially pertinent for us now, but they do not discard or nullify the rest of God's Word.
Les teaches that even though he is an adherent of Paul's epistles as the meat and potatoes for us today, that does not mean you cancel the rest of Scripture. No way—it all fits together. He illustrates this by going back to Psalms 94:11, where the Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, and they are vanity. God even knows our thoughts, and in the final analysis man's thoughts go up in a puff of smoke and amount to nothing. So Paul's epistles are especially pertinent without nullifying the rest of God's Word.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
