Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens to the wood, hay, and stubble when Jesus examines our works?

At the judgment seat, Christ's fiery, penetrating eyes test every person's work. Wood, hay, and stubble are burned up, going up in a puff of smoke, leaving only gold, silver, and precious stone. The worker suffers loss of reward, yet he himself is saved.

Les teaches that we will come before the Lord Jesus personally, and He will examine our work with His fiery eye. The fire is those fiery eyes of the Lord Jesus described in Revelation, which are not actual flames flying out but are so penetrating that they look right through us. When He looks at our life and reward status, the wood, hay, and stubble go up in a puff of smoke, so nothing is left but gold, silver, and precious stone. The man whose work is burned suffers loss, but he himself shall be saved, though he suffers the loss of reward.
