Are Christians today in the same immature state as the Corinthians?

Many professing Christians today remain in the same immature state as the Corinthians, still feeding on the milk of the Word and unable to handle the meat of Scripture or deeper doctrinal truths. They are not ready for strong meat and have not grown beyond spiritual infancy.

Les explains that Paul had fed the Corinthians milk, not meat, because they could not bear strong meat; they were still babes in Christ even after a year or two. Les then applies this to today, asking how many professing Christians are in the same state, having nothing of the meat of Scripture and not ready for it. He says they are still on the milk of the Word, and calls it a sad commentary today as it was then. He notes they are carnal, meaning believers controlled by the flesh rather than the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 3:2

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
