How can you be on solid ground about where you're going when you die?

Solid ground about where you go when you die comes from comparing Scripture with Scripture, not from isolated bits and pieces of one or two verses. By letting the whole Word of God define your hope, you can know and be sure of your eternal destination.

Les explains that many people settle on something that is just bits and pieces here and there, and they really don't even know where that's at. He tells of a woman who based her eternal destiny on doing good works and two isolated verses—one about suffering little children to come to Jesus, and one about going into all the world and baptizing. He asked if she was basing her whole eternal destiny on bits and pieces of just two verses. He then showed her verse after verse after verse, comparing Scripture with Scripture, for the benefit of the whole class. She admitted that if she had a salvation like that, she could be as sure as he was. Les maintains that you have to know what you are and where you're going based on comparing Scripture with Scripture, and then you're on solid ground. He then turns to 2 Peter chapter 1 to give an example of what he means by comparing Scripture with Scripture.
