Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does Les Feldick love the mountains?

He loves the mountains because they are so eternal and appear as the work of God's fingers. They give him a little glimpse and make him feel closer to Him. Though an old flat lander, their beauty moves him; he would live in the Rocky Mountains if he could make a living out of scenery.

Les explains that he makes no apology for loving the mountains. As an old flat lander, he still loves them, and if he could live his life over and make a living out of scenery, he thinks he would live out in the Rocky Mountains. He tells Iris as they drive through that it is gorgeous, but you can't eat it. The deeper reason, he says, is that it just gives a little glimpse, and that is why he loves the mountains: they are so eternal. They are so much the work of the fingers of God, and he cannot help but feel a little bit closer to Him as they drive through those tremendous mountainous areas. Yet even that beauty is nothing compared to what is still coming; this old world is a pig pen compared to that which is coming.
