Why did an Orthodox Jew say you should not evangelize all Jews?

Because if all Jews became Christians, none would remain as Jews to fulfill biblical prophecy. Israel must continue as a nation, in unbelief, so God can consummate the seven-year Tribulation and provide the 144,000 from the twelve tribes. He reasoned that prophecy requires a surviving Jewish nation.

Les explains that a young Orthodox Jew who watched his program and was under rabbinic teaching made this point: you don’t dare evangelize all the Jews, because you cannot make Christians of all of them. When Les asked why not, the man answered that there would be no Jews left to fulfill prophecy. Les ties this to Israel’s necessary national survival in unbelief. The nation must be in the land so God can consummate the seven years of Tribulation. If every Jew became a believer and the Rapture took place, no one would be left to fulfill prophecy. Israel must remain intact so the 144,000 can come from the twelve tribes, 12,000 from each tribe. Jeremiah 31 says the sun, moon, and stars would cease if Israel ceased to be a nation. So God watches over Israel like a hawk or with a sovereign eagle eye, keeping them intact. Paul therefore teaches that believers should have concern for the carnal or fleshly needs of the Jew today, contrary to rising anti-Semitism.
