When is a believer actually able to live out the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God?
A believer lives out God’s good, acceptable, and perfect will only after the salvation experience, when God renews the mind and creates the new man within. Then, walking daily in that new creation, searching the Scriptures in prayer and fellowship, God shows His will.
Les explains that this ability comes only after the renewing of the mind—the salvation experience—when God creates a new man within the believer. Only then can a person prove or live out daily what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. Before that, God does not fool with the unbelieving world or control their lifestyle, and morality cannot be legislated. So the starting point is becoming a child of God. After salvation, the believer searches the Scriptures, stays in an attitude of prayer and fellowship with other believers, and God shows His will. Les adds that this often comes not through flashing lights but through circumstances, doors opening and closing, as with every believer.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
