What was the purpose of Christ's first coming regarding the promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

Christ's first coming was intended to fulfill the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Israel rejected that offer and crucified their Messiah, yet God did not turn His back on them forever. He set them aside and blinded them but will return to finish the Abrahamic covenant.

Les explains that the whole idea of Christ's first coming was to fulfill the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God had not changed His mind about the Abrahamic covenant; it is still valid and true and will be fulfilled. But Israel rejected it out of hand, to the point of crucifying their Messiah. Yet God did not turn His back on them forever. He set them aside and blinded them, but He has not taken them out of His program. He will come back and finish the Abrahamic covenant.
