What happens on earth during the last three and a half years?
During the last three and a half years, the trumpet and bowl judgments of Revelation are poured out on the earth. The Antichrist defiles the temple in Jerusalem, turns on the Jewish people, and removes their freedom of worship, prompting a remnant of Israel to flee Judea to the mountains.
Les explains that Daniel's prophecy in verse 27 describes the overspreading of abominations and the Antichrist making the temple desolate until the consummation—the end determined, including all things foretold in the book of Revelation. Les teaches that the trumpet judgments and bowl judgments are what will happen on earth during that last three and a half years, and they will be poured upon the desolator, the man Antichrist. In Matthew 24, Jesus says when you see what Daniel foretold, the Antichrist will come from his place—Les suggests possibly Western Europe—down to the temple in Jerusalem, defile it, turn on the Jew, and take away their freedom of worship. At that same hour, the midpoint of the tribulation, a remnant of Israel flees from Jerusalem and Judea. Jesus instructs those in Judea to flee to the mountains, perhaps to the southeast, and some think the red rock city of Petra, but whatever.
