Who does 1 Corinthians 4 apply to besides Paul himself?

Besides Paul, 1 Corinthians 4 applies to all of his listeners—believers of this age. They are stewards, caretakers, managers, and overseers of the mysteries, required to be faithful in studying, learning, and passing those mysteries on to others who have never heard or know nothing of them.

Les explains that although Paul speaks in the first person in 1 Corinthians 4, whatever Paul applies to himself he applies to all of his listeners. The chapter puts a responsibility on believers of this age. They are to be stewards—caretakers, managers, and overseers—of the mysteries. Since no one can oversee or manage what they know nothing about, believers must study and learn. Verse 2 requires a steward or manager to be found faithful, so once they get hold of these mysteries, they are to faithfully pass them on to those who have probably never heard or know nothing of them.

1 Corinthians 4:1
