What were Paul's Roman and Greek qualifications?

Paul was a Roman by citizenship, which allowed him to approach Gentiles as a Roman. He was also fluent in Greek and in the culture of the then-known world. These qualifications, combined with his Jewish heritage, uniquely fitted him for his apostolic calling to both Jews and Gentiles.

Les explains that Paul was always defending his apostleship because of his unique calling and unique background. He points out that Paul was a Jew’s Jew, an Israelite, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, of the tribe of Benjamin. Yet he was a Roman by citizenship, fluent in Greek, and fluent in the culture of the then-known world. Les says all these things culminated in Paul so that he could go to the Jew as a Jew and to the Gentiles as a Roman. That unique combination is why he is the apostle he is.
