What did God tell Saul before he left Damascus about his mission?
God told Saul, before he left Damascus, that He would send him far hence to the Gentiles, while Israel would go into spiritual blindness. Saul’s mission was therefore to go to the Gentiles, not to Israel, carrying the message to pagan Gentiles who would swarm to the Gospel.
Les teaches that after Israel rejected and crucified her Messiah and King, and continued rejecting Him in the early Acts, God raised up Saul of Tarsus, the rebel who hated Jesus of Nazareth, and saved him by grace—the epitome of grace. Before Saul even got out of Damascus, God told him right up front that He was going to send him far hence to the Gentiles. Israel would go into spiritual blindness, but Saul would go to the Gentiles. Les explains that this opened the windows of heaven for Gentiles whose forefathers were pagan, steeped in idolatry, the occult, and mythology, while Israel alone had the true knowledge of the true God. God sent this apostle among pagan Gentiles, and they began to swarm to the Gospel because they had a spiritual hunger.
And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
