What is the makeup of the Jewish people in this age of grace?

In this age of grace, the Jewish people are largely outside the gospel, with only a small remnant—a small percentage of Jews—becoming believers in the gospel of grace. This remnant is chosen according to the election of grace, not law or Judaism, while the age itself is predominantly Gentile with some Jewish exceptions.

Les teaches that in this present age of grace, Paul describes the Jewish situation as one where the age is predominantly Gentile, with only some Jewish exceptions. Among the Jews, there is a remnant—a small percentage—who have become believers of the gospel of grace. This remnant is according to the election of grace, not of law and not of Judaism. Les explains that God has always kept a remnant, as seen in Elijah’s day when 7,000 had not fallen to idolatry. Likewise today, there is a remnant of Jews who recognize the very gospel of grace and the election of grace. Les also mentions reading testimonies of Jews from all different backgrounds who became believers, showing how God worked in their lives until they believed Jesus of Nazareth was indeed the Messiah who died for their sins. Yet they remain a remnant, and very few can believe it.

Romans 11:5

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
