What is Tisha B'Av?

Tisha B'Av is the 9th day of August when dramatic events occurred to the nation of Israel, causing them to weep repeatedly. They wept because they did not believe God's promise to clear the land, and consequently could not take the promised land.

Les explains that Tisha B'Av is the 9th day of August, a day when dramatic things happened to the nation of Israel, making them weep and weep. The reason was their unbelief: God said He would clear the land, but they said He would not, so they wept the next day because they could not take the promised land. Les then connects this to Hebrews chapter 3, verses 7 through 11, where the Holy Spirit speaks of the provocation in the wilderness, when the fathers tested God, proved Him, and saw His works for forty years. God was grieved with that generation, saying they always err in their heart and have not known His way, so He swore in His wrath they would not enter His rest. Les believes Paul wrote Hebrews and is now making the analogy.
