Will the rejected cornerstone remain rejected forever?

No. Though the builders disallowed Him and Israel cast Him aside, the stone is made the head of the corner. He will not remain covered with weeds forever; the day is coming when He will take His place as chief cornerstone over Israel and the world.

Les explains that the stone the builders disallowed is made the head of the corner. Israel cast Him aside, and in the analogy the chief cornerstone was thrown into a vacant lot, where weeds grew around it and people stumbled over it. But Les teaches that this stone of stumbling will not stay out covered with weeds forever. The day is coming when it will come back and take its place as the chief cornerstone of God's dealing with the nation of Israel as well as the world as a whole. The same passage contrasts those who believe, to whom He is precious, with the disobedient who refuse to believe.
