What are Gentiles more correctly called in Scripture, if not God's people?
Scripture does not place Gentiles in the same intimate covenant relationship with God that Israel had when He called them “My people.” Apart from the Acts passage where God calls out a people for His name, Gentiles are more correctly referred to as His born ones.
Les explains that scripturally Gentiles certainly do not come into the intimate relationship God had with Israel when He called them “My people.” When Israel fell away in obstinacy and unbelief, God said to Moses, “Thy people.” It will not be until Israel comes back in complete belief, at the return of Christ, that they will again be called God’s people, or “My people.” But other than the Acts portion where God says He will call out a people for His name, Gentiles are more correctly referred to as His born ones.
Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
