Who were the twins Rebecca conceived, and by whom?

The twins in Rebecca's womb were Esau and Jacob, and they were conceived by one man, even our father Isaac. Before their birth, neither having done good or evil, God's purpose according to election was to stand, not of works, but of Him that calls.

Les explains that Rebecca also conceived by one, even our father Isaac, and that she had twins in her womb: Esau and Jacob. He emphasizes that this happened before the children were born, neither having done anything good or evil, so that the purpose of God according to election might stand—not of works, not of what man deserves, but of Him that calls, the sovereign God. Les also illustrates that as mankind moves down the river of life, the doors on the banks say 'Whosoever will may come,' but after responding and stepping through, one looks back and reads 'Chosen from before the foundation of the world.'
