Are the Jews spiritually blinded?
The Jewish people are spiritually blinded for the most part, yet God has not given up on them. Though they are out there in unbelief, they remain God's chosen people, and His covenant commitment to them continues. Their blindness is not total nor final.
Les explains that although the Jew is still God's chosen people, they are out there in unbelief and spiritually blinded for the most part, yet God has not given up on them. He then reads a quote from Francis L. Patton, president of Princeton University from 1888 to 1902, who said the only hope of Christianity is in rehabilitating the Pauline theology—back to an incarnate Christ and the atoning blood, or on to atheism and despair. Les notes that a Princeton president today would not say this, but at that time Princeton was a bulwark of conservative Christianity.
