Is the word 'man' in John 10:28 in the original text?

The word 'man' is not in the original text; it was added by translators. The verse reads 'neither shall any pluck them out of my hand,' with 'any' including the whole sphere of creation, not just humanity. Therefore, the original text does not contain 'man' in that phrase.

Les teaches that in John 10:28 the word 'man' has been added by translators, so he prefers to leave it out. He reads the verse as 'neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.' Comparing 'any' with what Paul says in Romans 8, he explains that it includes the whole sphere of creation—not just man, but also the angelic powers and satanic powers—nothing can pluck believers out of His hand. He also notes that in verse 27 Jesus is dealing especially with the nation of Israel, which is why He uses the term sheep, and that if one can believe God in Christ died and rose again for salvation, then one should believe these things, that they are His.

John 10:28

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
