Is refusing to admit you are a sinner rebellion against God?

Yes, refusing to admit you are a sinner is rebellion against God. Such refusal flows from a rebellious state of mind that will not do what God says or acknowledge spiritual lack. This rebellion makes a person an enemy of God, because the carnal mind is enmity against God and is not subject to His law.

Les teaches that many who claim to be God's friends are actually His enemies because they are in a rebellious state of mind. They will not do what God says, will not admit they are a sinner, and will not admit a spiritual lack in their life. That refusal is rebellion, and a rebel is an enemy. He further explains that the carnal or old Adamic mind is enmity against God and is not subject to the law of God. God does not expect the unbeliever to keep His law or be a good person, because He sees that their nature is anything but good. This underscores why refusing to admit sin is rebellion.

Romans 8:7

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
