Do principalities and powers try to separate us from God's love?

Yes. Paul declares that principalities, the position they hold, and the energy coming from that position will do everything they can to take believers away from the love of Christ. Ephesians 6 likewise identifies the real conflict as against principalities and powers, not flesh and blood.

Les teaches that Paul is declaring that principalities, their position, and the energy from that position are going to do everything they can to take us away from the love of Christ. He then points to Ephesians 6, where the same word appears: "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers." There the Greek word for power is different; it does not speak of energy but of power as Jesus gave to the twelve when they went out and could perform miracles. Even so, the powers in Satan's realm are positioned and loaded with energy that seemingly never runs out.
