Is anticipation more exciting than getting what you were waiting for?

Yes. Anticipation is far more exciting than realization; looking forward to something is a lot more exciting than when it finally arrives. Faith and hope intertwine, so believers wait patiently for what they do not yet see, knowing God will bring it to fruition in His time.

Les explains that anticipation is far more exciting than realization: when you look forward to something, and keep looking forward to it, that is a lot more exciting than when it finally gets there. He ties this to Romans 8, where faith and hope are intricately intertwined. If a man sees something, then there is no need to hope for it. But if we hope by faith for that which we see not, then we do with patience wait for it. With God, time does not mean that much; He is not concerned whether He finally brings everything to its fruition tomorrow, 10 years from now, or 100 years from now. We know it is coming, and we cannot push God to do it faster, so we wait patiently. But in patience we should never lose sight of the fact that it is going to happen. Christ is going to return, and it feels like it is getting sooner every day.
