Les Feldick Bible Study

Why do animals and birds live in constant fear?

Animals and birds live in constant fear because the animal and bird kingdoms remain under the curse, making them prey to other creatures. They must constantly avoid becoming another creature's meal, as seen in the cottontail rabbit, which can never relax due to dogs, owls, hawks, foxes, and coyotes.

Les teaches that the animal kingdom and bird kingdom, under the curse, have to live in constant fear of being somebody else's lunch. He uses the cottontail rabbit as an example: it never relaxes because a neighbor's dog, an owl, hawks, foxes, or coyotes would love to grab it. The context adds that this will change when the curse is lifted and Christ returns; someday the cottontail will not have to worry.
