Les Feldick Bible Study

What does Paul teach about family members providing for one another?

Paul teaches that family members must provide for their own. He says let him who has a family take care of that family. Parents should lay up for their children, and children should not have to lay up for their parents. This supports accumulating wealth responsibly within God's timetable.

Les teaches that Paul addresses family provision in two different places. He says a person with a family must take care of that family, and parents should lay up for their children rather than children having to lay up for their parents. Les also notes there is nothing wrong with accumulating wealth or an estate as long as it is within God's timetable and plan for your life. This fits the believer's new life, where desires change, yet we still function, work, and plan.
