What are eternal things like?
Eternal things are without dimension and beyond human comprehension, infinite like God Himself. They cannot be fully grasped, much as one cannot comprehend the outer edges of space. Believers are headed to that infinite eternal period of eternal life, and what little can be comprehended is appropriated by faith.
Les teaches that the eternal life of God Himself has become part and parcel of every believer and will carry throughout all eternity. He says we cannot comprehend this, any more than we can comprehend the outer edges of space; it is beyond us and boggles the mind. To show God’s eternalness and infiniteness, he cites that it would take a million, 300,000 earths to equal the size of our sun, and many hundreds of thousands of our suns to equal the star Centaurus. That, he says, is the infinite God and eternity, and that is where we are headed—an infinite eternal period of eternal life. Time as we know it will not be time, but we are dealing with eternal things without dimension, beyond human comprehension. What little we can comprehend, we appropriate by faith. He stresses this is not some far-out kooky stuff someone dreamed up.
