What does 1 Corinthians 6:19 teach about the believer's body?

Scripture teaches that the believer’s body is the temple, or dwelling place, of the Holy Spirit who is within, whom the believer has from God. Because the Holy Spirit is a gift and the believer is not their own, having been bought with a price—the blood of Christ—the body is to glorify God.

Les explains from 1 Corinthians 6:19 that Paul asks, “Don’t you know that your body, this body we’re living in right now today, is the temple or the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have of God?” He notes that you do not buy Him—Simon in Samaria tried to buy the gift and power of the Holy Spirit, and Peter said, “Your money perish with you.” The Holy Spirit is a gift of God now in us, and we are not our own. It is not because we deserved or earned it, but because we are bought with a price—not with our money or anything we have, but with the blood of Christ, as Peter puts it. Therefore, “glorify God in your body,” because the body is the place of the indwelling Spirit, and all belongs to the Creator God Himself.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
