What happens to the Ten Commandments' jurisdiction when the old Adam is crucified and dead?

When old Adam is crucified and reckoned dead in God's eyes, the Ten Commandments no longer hang over him because he is dead. The believer then enters a new relationship, not under the Mosaic law, but under the love, grace, and mercy of Christ.

Les teaches that the old Adam has to be crucified, and the minute Adam is crucified and dead in the eyes of God, the Ten Commandments no longer hang over him. He is dead. But Les says we don't leave it there; we pick up another relationship. He illustrates this with a widow who lost her husband: she is free to marry another, and Scripture does not forbid it. In the spiritual realm, as soon as old Adam is crucified and reckoned dead, God immediately reckons that believers are married to Christ—a new relationship, not under the Mosaic law, but under the love, grace, and mercy of Christ Himself.
