When in the prophetic timeline does Revelation 20 take place?
Revelation 20 takes place at the end of the tribulation and encompasses the millennial reign of Christ, when the kingdom has come and rules for a thousand years. It also includes the great white throne and the second death after the thousand years.
Les explains that Revelation chapter 20 is positioned at the end of the tribulation and during the millennial reign of Christ. The kingdom has come in and will rule and reign for a thousand years. In verse 5, John writes that the rest of the dead—the lost who have not experienced resurrection—live not again until the thousand years are finished. That is when the great white throne will come about. This is the first resurrection, which is only believers, from Adam clear down to the end of the tribulation. On such believers, the second death hath no power.
