What does Paul keep saying about Christ's death and the believer's death?

Paul repeatedly hammers home that Christ died for our sins, and that as Christ died, believers must also die. Out of that death comes new life—eternal life, not just for this present life of 70, 80, or 90 years, but forever.

Les teaches that all through Paul's epistles, this is what Paul keeps hammering home: Christ died for our sins, and as He died, we have to die. Ephesians 2, verse 1 is the reference point, and out of that death we get new life, eternal life. It is not just for this life—for 70, 80, or 90 years—but forever. Paul writes to believers, the saints—every believer, not just an elite few. To us as believers, he says it is past tense, already done: we have been made alive.
