Do believers stay in the tomb after being buried with Christ?

No, believers do not stay in the tomb after being buried with Christ. They are buried with Him by baptism into death, but they do not remain there. As Christ was resurrected from the tomb, believers are resurrected out of it, arising in newness of life.

Les teaches that being buried with Christ by baptism into death is not water baptism into a church or denomination; it is the work of the Almighty Himself. Christ was really dead for three days and three nights in the tomb to prove it was not an unconscious state or a trick. Likewise, old Adam must die, and as he died, we died; as he was buried, we were buried in the mind of Christ, the mind of God. He saw us in the tomb. But Les explains that we are not going to stay there any more than Christ did. In order for us to experience resurrection from the grave, we had to go into it, but we are resurrected out of it. This is the theme Paul never drops.
