Did Adam's sin curse the entire creation or only Adam and Eve?
Adam’s sin did not bring the curse only on Adam and Eve; the curse fell on the whole creation, and everything came under it. With the curse came death, which had been unknown before Adam sinned. Scripture presents one man’s sin as the entry point of death into the world.
Les explains that death came with Adam’s sin. Before Adam sinned, he believes nothing died in the Garden of Eden, not even in the animal world, because everything ate herbs, fruits, and grasses, so no life was lost to support another species. He stands on the premise that until Adam sinned, nothing died and death was unknown. But as soon as Adam sinned, the curse fell not only on Adam and Eve but on the whole creation, and everything came under the curse; with the curse came death. Les even wonders whether the whole universe came under it, though he has not reached a complete conclusion. He also ties this to good science, specifically the laws of thermodynamics, noting the first law says nothing is being created or destroyed.
