Why is the church in trouble according to Les Feldick?
The church is in trouble because it fails to pinpoint people to the fact that there must be a personal salvation, and they are not getting it. It emphasizes what we do or who we join up with instead of what we do with the gospel.
In the transcript, after the man said none of them ever asked him, Les explains that this is exactly where the church is in trouble. The church is not pinpointing these people to the fact that there has to be a personal salvation, and they're not getting it. When the man led the woman through the plan of salvation, she was gloriously saved. Les stresses that it is not what we do, not who we join up with, but what we do with the gospel. The person who works tries to earn reward, and it cannot be reckoned of grace, because God will never be in debt to any human being. We must come God's way: by God's grace, through faith, plus nothing.
