What does God give the believer after crucifying the old Adam?

After the old Adam is crucified, God does not leave the believer in death or the grave. He gives new life, resurrection life. The Holy Spirit comes in, recharges the believer's spirit, and dwells with him, identifying the believer with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

Les teaches that the believer has let God put old Adam to death by crucifixion, but God did not leave us that way or in the grave. Instead, He gave us new life, resurrection life. Les connects this to John's Gospel, chapter 12, verse 23, where Jesus said the hour had come for the Son of Man to be glorified, and that except a kernel of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone, but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. Les explains that Jesus was talking about His death, burial, and resurrection, and now we identify with that. He also shows that the Law convicts us as sinners and lawbreakers because of our condition in Adam. Then the Holy Spirit recharges our spirit; the moment we believe, He comes in in the person of the Holy Spirit and dwells with us. Old Adam is reckoned right there on the cross.
