Why did Paul say that he received his message by revelation?
The message came by revelation because these truths had not yet been revealed, and it was now time for God to make them known. Paul described himself as one born before the due time, receiving revelations while the rest of Israel remained blinded to these things.
Les teaches that Paul comes back by inspiration and says he got it by revelation because those things had not been revealed yet; it was now time. Paul uses the Corinthians explanation, “I am like one born before the due time,” meaning he was not an abort but came too early. According to the whole nation of Israel, Israel is still blind to the great things Paul experienced, but their day is coming. Les connects this to Paul’s revelations of the doctrine of grace: the law could only condemn and say guilty, while God’s righteousness is appropriated by faith upon all who believe, with no difference between Jew and Gentile.
