Why was Paul called before the Jerusalem council?

He was called before the Jerusalem council because the Jews were calling him on the carpet for having gone to the Gentile. By that time, he had been ministering among Gentiles in Tarsus and seeing Gentiles brought into the body of Christ for about eleven years.

Les teaches that in Acts chapter 15 there was a council in Jerusalem, where the Jews were calling Paul on the carpet for having gone to the Gentile. He explains the time interval: from the time Paul began his ministry among the Gentiles in his old home city of Tarsus until that council in Jerusalem was already eleven years. During that eleven-year period, Paul still had not written any of his epistles, but he had been seeing Gentiles brought into the body of Christ. Paul always approached the Jew first, yet the controversy arose over his ministry to Gentiles.
