Why is 1 Corinthians 15 called the Great Resurrection chapter?

1 Corinthians 15 is called the Great Resurrection chapter because it centers on the truth that Christ had been raised from the dead and records His post-resurrection appearances—to 500 brethren at once, to James, to all the Apostles, and last of all to Paul.

Les explains that 1 Corinthians 15 is the Great Resurrection chapter because Paul has just made mention that Christ had been raised from the dead. The chapter then sets out resurrection witnesses: Christ was seen of 500 brethren at once, of whom the greater part remained when Paul was writing; after that He was seen of James, then of all the Apostles; and last of all He was seen of Paul also, as one born out of due time. Les pauses on that phrase and says Paul was speaking of himself spiritually as a mother-to-be who lost her baby—a preemie, an aborted one, a miscarriage. Paul had come on the scene before the due time for the nation of Israel as a whole, so he was a sampling that Israel will one day be suddenly converted as he was on the road to Damascus.
