Why did Les picture Peter off to the side and possibly sulking?
Peter was pictured off to the side, sitting and perhaps sulking, because he had lost his role as the head honcho. He was not even moderator of the meeting; James, the half brother of Jesus and not one of the twelve, was moderator instead.
Les explains that most of the dissension and discussion would have been on their feet in some large room. Yet while this was going on, he pictures Peter off to the side, sitting down, maybe even sulking a little. The reason is that by now Peter had lost his role as the head honcho; he was not even the moderator. James, the half brother of Jesus, was moderator, and he was not one of the twelve. Les connects this to the Jewish system slipping, and notes Peter later stands up, takes the floor after much disputing, and refers back to Cornelius about thirteen years earlier.
