What does Romans 16:25 say about the secret behind Paul's gospel?

Romans 16:25 says God can establish believers according to Paul’s gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery—or secret—which was kept secret since the world began. That secret concerning Paul’s gospel had been hidden in God’s mind and was not revealed earlier.

Les explains that Romans 16:25 is addressed by Paul to the Gentile congregation in Rome. Paul describes his gospel as the preaching of Jesus Christ and the revelation of the mystery, or secret, which was kept secret since the world began. Les emphasizes that the secret was still hid in the mind of God; God had not yet said He would save the whole human race based on His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection. Because no one can believe something God has never said, Peter could not preach it. Paul is preaching something God had kept secret; Peter did not know it, and it had not been revealed yet. Les then points ahead to Ephesians chapter 3 for another witness to this truth.
