How can I know the will of God?
God's will is first discerned through circumstances, along with Scripture and prayer. When God closes a door, it indicates that path is not His will, and He opens another door. Following these circumstantial openings and closings, combined with Scripture and prayer, reveals His direction.
Les teaches that when people ask him how to know the will of God, his first answer is circumstances. He explains that when God slams a door in your face, you should realize that is not where He wants you. Every time He closes a door, He opens another one. So you follow your circumstances, along with Scripture and prayer. Les points out that God moves in circumstances, as seen when circumstances arose that forced Saul to move out after a conspiracy to kill him.
